Obama's Economy

When does the US economy become the responsibility of President Obama. His decisions will either have a positive or negative effect on the situation. We're beginning to see the effect now. Nobody ever said being President was easy. It'sdefinately not the place for an inexperienced, but gifted, individual to learn on the go...

From Bushisms to Obamaisms

It's easy to remember all the "Bushisms" from his 8 years in office because the media, and individuals who really didn't like the man to begin with, had such a field day with them. I watched many of them and had plenty of laughs myself. I laughed because the guy is human, just like most everyone else.
Now we have Obama in office who was supposed to be much more educated, experienced, and polished. The Left fully expected Obama to rescue them from the shadow of embarassing blunders made by President Bush. Has he delivered, or is he an error prone human like most everyone else?
He has already committed several teleprompter miscues which leads many to believe he isn't able to communicate without written word in front of his face. Now, he has gone on the Jay Leno show (during a global crisis nonetheless), and made comments that were thoughtlessly critical of the handicapped.

When will the media and those who had so much fun making fun of Bush start to highlight the Obamaisms? Or, will the elitist media who backed Obama from birth sweep these funny mess ups under the rug? I wonder such things...

Obama the Supreme Negotiator

I recall during the presidential campaign how now President Obama raised the noble idea of bringing world peace through better relations and negotiation with organizations like the Taliban, and nations like North Korea and Iran. Many warned him that this had been tried time and time again. I agree it never hurts to talk and is best to keep communication channels open. But, the President also have to understand the cost of appearing weak. He also has to understand that some leaders, organizations, and countries cannot be trusted. How many times has North Korea agreed one day only to disagree the next? President Obama should also listen to his commanders on the ground who have reported time and time again that Iran is meddling in Iraq and attempting to end any peace that the US and other soldiers have fought to establish.

Obama's latest offer to Iran was met, I can only imagine, with laughter. The present leadership within Iran has no interest in being "friends" with the West, especially with the USA.

Experience as a community organizer, a short stint as a Freshman Senator, a degree from a notorious school, and the ability to give a great presentation with the aid of a teleprompter does not qualify one to be President of the United States. I hope we have better choices on both sides of the aisle in another 4 years. Hopefully Obama doesn't socialize America and negotiate us into dire straights between now and then...

Innocent Until Proven Guilty

My internet reading and cafe latte (Nespresso of course) were interupted this morning by the sound of heavy water rushing from somewhere.  But where?  I came to my feet and made my way to the window that overlooks my terrace.  What I saw was a bit odd.  Water was shooting from the garden water outlet, and my favorite neighborhood kitty was standing right over it?  Could the kitty be guilty of somehow switching the water on?  I rushed to get my camera as I wanted to record the evidence if the kitty was indeed found guilty of such a crime.  By the time I returned, the kitty had moved a number of steps from the potential crime scene.
One question flowed through my mind...  Is the kitty guilty or not.  I approached the scene very carefully.  Upon close inspection, I noticed that the valve controlling water flow had snapped off the pipe.  The guilty party seems to be the cold weather.

With the kitty exonerated, the question quickly became, was the poor kitty actually a victim of this tragic incident.  Had the water outlet, in fact, burst while the kitty was passing by, perhaps frightening him or even wetting him?  There was no way to tell as the kitty was no where in sight by this time in the investigation.  Even if he were, I may have trouble getting answers from him that would help the investigation.  Therefore, the investigation was duly closed.

The water is still flooding the terrace while I wait for someone to come fix the problem.  Perhaps in the future I should leave the outlet dripping when the temperature is freezing... : )

Bonne année !

I just returned to Switzerland from 3 weeks vacation in the USA. I needed the break!!!
While in the USA, I visited both Nashville and Dallas. In Nashville, I was able to reunite with some high school friends at a cool bar called Barfields. It was fun to catch up on who was doing what in life. I also spent a weekend downtown with a special someone.
In Dallas, I spent the week with the same special someone. We ate too much, did some shopping, and spent some quality time together. We toured the JFK Musuem which was emotional.

We also visited Baylor where we were able to watch my Bears win a game against Portland State. Very nice!!!
We spent New Years at a cool restaurant with plenty of wine and great food. Someone was looking very nice!!!
It was nice seeing family and friends. It was especially nice spending time with this certain someone and I look forward to more time with her in the near future. There's alot of distance between here and there but this girl is one good catch. I'll never let distance get in the way of a good thing...

Happy New Year!!!
